Positive change partnerships

Lasting change requires collaboration between the public and private sectors. That is why we have forged impactful partnerships with organisations like the South African National AIDS Council’s Private Sector Forum. This partnership aims to help eradicate HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and chronic communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Since 2019, through joint efforts, we’ve implemented health screening programmes. The latest initiative extended wellness screenings to 25 000 community members in Limpopo, offering HIV counselling and testing, TB screening, STI screening, as well as checks for blood pressure, glucose levels, BMI and vision. AfroCentric also allocated additional funding to the BizAIDS Programme to help small business owners assess and reduce health, business and legal risks.

Previous partnerships include the South African Business Coalition on Health and Aids through the Adolescent Girls and Young Women programme. This initiative reached females aged 15 to 25 in various provinces, providing comprehensive screenings to over 16 000 community and workforce members and included sponsored test kits, training and monitoring.

We also supported the Male Sexual Partners programme, enabling over 16 000 additional screenings across areas like Cape Town, Tshwane and Burgersfort. The initiative focused on reaching men in safe spaces, supporting small businesses and forming strong outreach partnerships.
